Elder Rhodes Missionary Experiences while serving the Brazilian people

I got a new companion. His name is Elder Denett, he is from Argentina and he has been out 11 months in the mission. We get along well. Nothing really exciting happened this week. Mostly just spent time with members and going to mission meetings. Not gonna lie I don't have anything to write. ;) The missionary that Elder Aguilar is training is an American too. I like him. I miss having Elder Wright at our house, me and him we pretty much best friends by the end of the 12 weeks in the same house.  The members are taking good care of us, they all got together and gave us a big box of snacks and fruit and stuff. It was really nice of them. Love you guys, Elder Tate

Elder Costa is getting transferred and I am going to stay here. My new companion is Elder Dennett and nobody knows who he is.  I don't know if that is good or bad.  Also, in our house Elder Wright was transferred and he will be the new secretary for the mission lol, that would suck being on a computer all day and not being able to actually work. Elder Aguilar is staying in the house with me and will train a newbie and we don't know who it is yet either. We are pretty excited, Elder Aguilar is so funny and we get along so well, I'm glad he is staying in the house with me. This week good, but nothing really exciting happened. Yasmin and Julio had some hiccups with the word of wisdom so we waited to get them married until after we can fix that. All round was an alright week. Alice gave a talk in sacrament and made everybody almost cry. She is awesome. I honestly don't think that I will ever find a better investigator. Baptizing her was almost too easy. La...

This week was not the best. It was honestly super great until Friday night.  Friday night was the ward Christmas party. We were outside waiting for our investigators and we called Sheila to see if they were coming.  She said no because she doesn't live in town anymore.  What??   The next day Socrates called and asked if we could come over. He told us that they got into a huge fight and he no longer has any desire to go to church.  He thinks he is going to move back to Sao Paulo with his mom.  At church, Shiela called us and said she was outside the church building and wanted to talk. She said they got in a huge fight and that she just left him. I gave Bianca the present from the package my family sent and that cheered her up a little bit. But still, this week was not fun. I think we can still baptize Shiela but honestly it won't be the same. I received the Christmas package! All those things I really needed...thank you!....

Was a pretty good week.   I had the opportunity to baptize Alice.  It was super awesome and her family was there too and had questions and now want to take the lessons. So, you better hide you kids, and hide you wives, cuz we about to baptize everybody up in this here family.  ;) Alice was super excited and happy to be baptized. Her mom came to church yesterday to see her get confirmed and afterwards she said that the difference she has seen in her daughter in the last month is unimaginable and she is like an angel now lol.  Later that day she sent us a text message saying she was like glowing with happiness and radiating with joy which is crazy. Having the opportunity to baptize her was really cool too, finally was able to break out the whites. We spent a good amount of time with Sheila and Socrates yesterday and they seemed to be doing good. Pretty sure he has received the papers he needs but now he is second guessing it ...
