Elder Rhodes Missionary Experiences while serving the Brazilian people

Well I'm getting transferred. I'm going to Nova Italia, which is part of the city of Limeira. My new companion is Elder Cano and I don't know him but I've heard really good things about him and the area so I'm really excited. I honestly don't really want to leave because i love the people so much here. When I told Alice i was leaving she started to cry so that was kind of sad lol. Her mom said she cried too. I'm really going to miss their family, i already baptized Alice and Amanda is getting baptized this week and after Mari gets married she is getting baptized too. We are going over there tonight one last time though. Last thing is that I totally won that wrestling match The score was 8-0. And, before that I wrestled Elder Aguilar but sorry I didn't get those on camera.  The storms here are crazy and we get them almost every night now which is awesome. Also, it  is passing 100 degrees almost every day here the hottest it has gotten is 124. ...

The haircut. It was p-day and I was with my boy Elder Keller. We went to get a hair cut for me and this dude had no clue what the heck he was doing. I said use the scissors on top and just take off an inch like normal. This guy tried to convince me that a 6 on the machine would do the same thing. I told him that heck no it wouldn't but he insisted.  Sure enough I'm almost bald now. This dude was on a mission to wreck my hair, it was awful. Elder Keller was on the floor of the barber shop rolling around crying while he was cutting my hair. I don't think I've ever seen anyone laugh so hard in my life. But yeah that's the story, I didn't ask for this, in fact I was very specific on what I asked for lol. It is what it is.  Glad everyone is doing well. Nicholas proposed, Autumn is going to sin city. The girls are making a movie. Snow all over the place. I'm dying here because of the heat. It hit 100 the other day and it ain't getting any col...

Well, I almost died this week. Truthfully, I actually didn't almost die. I just got like deathly dehydrated because I drank some bad water. I had you know what for 10 days!  I called Sister Bangerter (mission president wife) because I thought I was dying.  She thought I was crazy for not going to the doctor sooner, I told her I had already taken two types of medication that didn't do anything so she sent me to the hospital.  When I got there nobody believed me that I had been sick for ten days. They couldn't understand how I still managed to walk all day in the sun and not be dead of dehydration.  It was kind of funny, everyone looked at me like I was stupid. The doctor instructed me to stay in the house for 3 days and drink this like super Gatorade stuff to help re-hydrate.  He also gave me some super strong medication. It was funny when he told me to stay in the house for three days I looked at him and was like, " well we actually don't us...

I was super happy to talk with you guys over Christmas week. You guys are all grown up. I didn't really realize how long I had been gone until i saw how much all the kids have changed, except for Avery.  I could still take him fairly easily in my sleep. Nah I'm just joking, but not really. You guys all look good. But it was really good to see all of you and you all look great. This week there was like a leadership conference so i went to a different area to work with Elder Keller. He is another missionary that is in training right now, he is from Texas. We had a ton of fun and we worked super hard. He is funny and we get along very well. He has absolutely no fear to speak to people which is funny because he is still learning Portuguese, but it is also good.  I was able to help him out a bit. I do have a funny story though. He said he thought there was a neighborhood on the other side of a cornfield that he had never knocked doors at before so I was like lets ...
