Cockroaches and Blessings
Well MTC is great. Food is exactly the same lol, but I'm surviving.
Parental guidance suggested for this next part.
So our mailbox is next to the cafeteria and we forgot to check it so we went down and apparently they had gassed the ceilings for cockroaches and there must have been 1000 dead roaches on our cafeteria floor. It was gross. Anyway, i still didn't have any trouble eating breakfast the next morning lol.
Does anyone know the singer Nathan Pacheco? He came and gave us an awesome devotional/concert. He is amazing and he sung songs like be thou my vision, forever, his love, one by one. Stuff like that and it was really awesome. He has a crazy good voice. I know that my mom and dad know some of those songs so I've heard them before. Anyways look him up. He has a sacred songs album and you all should check it out.
We are still teaching these investigators and we got a new one this week. We taught her the second lesson and she is like one of the harder investigators. (The investigators we teach is kind of like a video game with different levels of difficulty as you go through the MTC). Anyway, we taught a drop-dead lesson in awesome Portuguese and our investigator (Instructor) was like in awe from how good we were doing. We invited her to be baptized in the second lesson and she accepted to be baptized in a week and a half. Its crazy how pumped up we were afterward even though it was only a fake lesson. I can't imagine the feeling we will get when a real person accepts the gospel.
There is an Elder in my district that wasn't feeling well and asked for a blessing so I told him that I would give it for him. There were multiple times that I thought the blessing was over but I just kept talking. It was awesome. He just had a really bad cold and most of the blessing wasn't even about that. After the blessing, he came up to me and said what the spirit told me to say was exactly what he needed to hear and there is no way I could have known. Priesthood blessings are very important and I am thankful for them.
Love you all,
Elder Rhodes
