2 Months In!
Well, I am now 2 months through my mission. It has flown by. I saw a Komodo dragon this week. Maddux was the first person I told about that of course. To Maddux, "I will send pictures of a capybara I saw up close in person. Also a ton of birds and lizards. I saw A KOMODO DRAGON! It ran into the woods and I didn't get a picture though. It was absolutely huge and super scary looking. I ran after it and my companion grabbed me and was like, no man, that thing can kill you!"
This week our baptism did not go through. Apparently, there was a miscommunication with some of the members and the mother of Augsto about the details and dates of the baptism. He is still getting baptized, now it will be on the 27th. All good, a little frustrating, but all good.

We had division this week and I went with our district leader Elder Barros. It was awesome. we set both of our records for teaching lessons in a day! We taught 12 lessons in one day. How crazy is that? Also, we met this guy on the street who had just gotten out of prison for a couple of days. He has to go back into prison the following day. His name is Cleverson and i could tell he was genuinely interested. We shared a short message and when we finished we asked him to pray. It was a crazy sincere prayer. We didn't set an appointment because we didn't know when he was going back to jail so we just invited him to church. Well, to our surprise he showed up. And he cried throughout the entire sacrament meeting. We are going to see him tonight and i hope that when he gets out of prison he will look up the missionaries.
Tonight we will teach about the restoration and also we'll give him a bunch of stuff to read while he is in the clink. I loved seeing him humble himself and want to change. The Lord has prepared him, i just wish that the timing was a bit better.
Other than that the week was pretty normal. We taught a bunch of lessons. I gave my first blessing in Portuguese, which was a bit choppy but I'm pretty sure the priesthood still works anyway. Also, we had our first multi-zone conference, which was good and crazy super long. But good.
Portuguese is coming along i guess. I can pretty much understand everything I'm reading in the Book of Mormon at this point. I'm in the middle of Alma.
Also, we had a flood in our bathroom because of a mishap from a missionary. Brother Hellwig, you would have been impressed. I'll have to tell you about it sometime.
It was a pretty uneventful week other than these couple of things. Also, everyone here wants to learn English, so i end u speaking and teaching people a ton of English which is cool. Also, a lot of our lessons are with people in the middle of the street which i never thought would happen, but if you can get them to listen, then teach them right?
Love you guys.
