Transfers, baptismal dates and that one guy
We had transfers this week and received a new missionary in our house. Elder Aguilar, he is cool and super funny. He is from Peru.
This week started with me throwing out my back first thing Wednesday morning. I couldn't really move and had basically concluded that I wasn't going to be able to do anything that day because we walk roughly 8-10 miles a day. In addition, we have to carry our bags with books and stuff; it's not light.
I decided I would receive a blessing. In the blessing, Elder Costa said that I would be healed according to my faith. After the blessing, I felt the same. I got to thinking and I remembered that faith is shown by action. I decided this day would be just like any other day. We had a short planning session and left the apartment to work. I walked all day with hardly any pain whatsoever. I was literally healed.
To bring a little levity, we found this fruit called jaca which is just a giant ball of whatever. We grabbed a bunch of them and put them in the pillowcase of another missionary. It was pretty funny.

Shiela and Socrates went to get the papers for them stating that they were married and Socrates birth certificate is like super destroyed and they said he needs a new one. So they ordered a new one and they will be baptized on the 15th of December. Other than that they are doing well.
Augusto will be baptized on the 24th of November. It's a done deal this time. We have made sure with everybody that this is ok. His mom had already made plans for the baptism; so we are all good there.
Alice is set for a baptism date as well. She will be baptized on the 1st of December. She really loves church and straight up told her mom that our church is way better than the church her mom goes too and we were kind of trying not to laugh. Its ok though because her mom loves us.
Yasmin and Julio need to get married but we set a baptism date for them too. They also will be baptized on the 1st of December. They have two kids who are crazy bit are pretty funny too.
Its crazy that we have 6 people on date for baptism because the last baptism in our ward was over a year and a half ago. Our ward is so called one of the hardest areas in the mission. President Bangerter emailed me this week and basically said how impressed he is with us and all the success we are having in the ward. Good feeling.

Quick story, We had lunch with the other elders in our apartment at a persons house in their ward. When walking back this guy was walking on a b-line for us and Elder Wright was like awe crap this dude is crazy. He came up to us and was like "how come you guys never came to my house" and Elder Wright said because the street he lives on wasn't on the map, which is true. He was like vamos la which means lets go there right now. Elder Wright turns to me and Elder Costa and says please teach with us. So we did.
This dude was absolutely crazy. The entire time we were trying to teach the restoration and he just kept asking random questions like why did God create the devil? Or why is spiritualism false? He got to the point where he just starting saying stuff that he believed in and Elder Wright answered every single sentence with "Falso"; which means that's false. It was so funny and we were all trying not to laugh.
It was a little odd to because this guys house was 100% empty and he literally had nothing except coffee. We got to the end of the lesson and we were like alright we are done with this. He was arguing with us about the bible and when we asked how much of the bible he read he said none, he had just watched the movie. We kind of had to laugh at that one. He then started asking super weird questions and we stood up and were like we have to leave. Elder Wright said if you come to church this Sunday you will get an answer. He responded, "I will wake up drink coffee and go to your church."
When we left, Elder Wright said "if that guy comes to church I will straight up give him a baptismal invitation." Lets just say that guy has a baptismal date for next week right now. Two days ago he believed God And Jesus were the same person, we were all spirits and don't have bodies. I'm pretty sure the only reason he has a baptismal date is because he will believe literally anything anyone says. I feel bad but it was just so funny. Elder Wright said he doesn't know if he has the mental capacity to be prepared for baptism but they will try. We still laugh about it. It was just so funny.
I love you guys, take care
